LEO in productive use
We have been working together with ÖBB for several years to optimise rail transport planning and make it more robust. LEO (LokEinsatzOptimierung - locomotive deployment optimisation) supports planners in their day-to-day work by optimising the timetable planning of a reference week with regard to various criteria and can be simulated in the overall system using our software tool. The results of the mathematical calculations can also be compared with each other in tabular or graphical form. In this way, resource requirements, delays, costs and emissions can be minimised.
Now our work has paid off, because LEO is productive. The connection to ÖBB’s internal IT systems has recently been set up in such a way that schedules generated with LEO can be actively edited there and then actually travelled.
